Man Maker AMRAP & Workout Gear That Stays Put

Must Try

Today, I’m showing you an AMRAP workout from the 14 Day Challenge that is simple (only three movements) but very intense.

I’m also sharing a line of compression clothing from SKINS that is sure to stay put and look sharp during your most dynamic workouts.

Man Maker AMRAP

For this workout, you will need a set of dumbbells (I’m using 25#). Set your timer for 14 minutes and complete the following:

Man Makers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – 5…

Sit-ups: 2 – 4 – 6 – 8 – 10…

So, you will complete one Man Maker (<—click for complete video demo), then two sit-ups. Then, two Man Makers, and four sit-ups. Keep adding reps in this pattern until the fourteen minutes has expried.

There are lots of versions of Man Makers out there, so click on the link above to see the Navy SEAL version I’m suggesting. It’s TOUGH!

Next, take a 2-3 minute break. Then, complete 50 full burpees for time–meaning as fast as you can.

This workout might be short, but it is MIGHTY! I think you’ll agree after completing it yourself. Let me know if you give it a go.

SKINS COMPRESSION CLOTHING

I’m going to do a better job of sharing my go to workout pieces here, so you can add to your training wardrobe! SKINS recently sent me an outfit to test.

SKINS offers compression gear for a variety of athletes including endurance runners, rugby players, Cross-Fitters and Yogis. They have improved the performance of a number of the world’s best athletes and organizations while also supporting initiatives that take a stand against dishonesty and discrimination in sport both on and off the field. I dig that.

Almost immediately, I considered how these items would be ideal for Spartan racing (or similar) because they stay put and improve circulation, especially when muscles are tired and sore.

During those races, you want tight clothing that’s not going to get caught on obstacles, or become dripping wet when you go under water, or get saggy and chafe.

Let’s take a look at a handful of items:

Compression Short Sleeve Top is made from a warp knitted mix of yarns that gives you a particular level of stretch for controlled compression and durability. I especially appreciate the interior waistband made of a grippy material, so the shirt does not ride up.

Compression Tights not only are these tights eye catching, but they do not sag! I tend to get annoyed very easily (who doesn’t?!) when workout clothing is not functional. I do not want to constantly adjust my pants when I squat, bend, or jump!

These tights are comprised of moisture wicking fabric draws sweat away from the body to the surface of the garment where it evaporates to keep you dry. I love training in them!

Speed Sports Bra is a medium impact support bra with smooth elastic straps that won’t dig into your shoulders. It really IS comfortable and a piece I would use to train for a majority of workouts. It’s not made for high impact training, you’d want something with a bit more support, but the fit and comfort level is ideal for most workouts.

Odot Tee Drapey tops, like this, don’t look the best on me, but I can see how this piece would tie the outfit together before and after your workout. Plus, that color pops.

Overall

This selection only scratches the surface of what SKINS compression clothing offers for your training. I was highly impressed with the high quality products. Most notably, the attention to details like the biomechanically positioned panels and seams on the tights to support and stabilize the muscles, and to reduce fatigue and risk of injury.

SKINS takes great pride in making functional pieces fashionable for a variety of sports and athletes. I want my workout clothing to serve a purpose, feel good, and look good. SKINS hits the mark!
